Daphne!
|
|
Foaled in 2000, Daphne is a Conners bred mare. A big blocky, black and white, Tobiano girl, she stands 14.3 hands tall! She is such an amazing and beautiful Mare! Daphne foaled a fabulous filly by Sligo in 2007. We named the filly Melantha (Millie for short). Go to our horses page and click on "Millie", to see more of this charming girl. The colt that was born 2008 Apollo Daphne puts her stamp on her foals! They are just amazing! You can NOT go wrong with Daphne! She is smart, beautiful, a great momma, and such a great horse! We have went back and forth on selling Daphne. If you are interested please call us. |

The note below is from Kelly, Daphne's new owner... |
Here is Kelly's note to our message board.~~~~~ "It is with great sadness that I write this post. Today Daphne was put to sleep, and has been buried at home this afternoon. It really is a bit of a long story and one I’m not ready to write. In short poor Daphne had to have colic surgery, not once but twice since arriving in Australia. She was making an uneventful recovery from the second surgery until this morning, but unfortunately the pain got too much, and there was nothing more we could do for her, and believe me we tried everything! I am so sad over this loss even though I had only known her for a short period of time. Daphne was a beautiful mare, so strong, heroic and the best mamma. She will be greatly missed, not only by us, but I'm sure Deb, Jeff and family also. Gem is doing fine. We did have to abruptly wean her two weeks ago, but she has been doing great and has been put in with my miniature filly. They get along great together and have lots of fun out in the paddock. Gem really is so beautiful and I know she is going to do Daphne proud, as will her other babies. In memory Daphne will live on forever. For now I am numb and no more words come to hand, but I wanted to let everyone know so this part was done. To Deb and Jeff, thank you so much for the opportunity and your support over the last few months. Sorry it just didn't work out differently." |

Daphne is so proud. She should be! She is built like a stallion! |
