Equine Outreach is in desperate need of help to keep their
non profit horse rescue alive.

them with food and medical treatment.

Columbia Basin Horse Rescue is also in desperate need of help.
My niece rescued a horse from Columbia Basin and is now showing her horse!
This beautiful horse can now be ridden bitless and brideless!
They are in the Vancouver Washington area.

They also have Registered Adoptable Horses!

As I was going into the hospital to be with Tyler the other day
I ran into the woman who started Equine Outreach here in Bend. She has been in real estate
for over 30 years. Her money has gone to helping animals. Now Equine Outreach is very close to closing their doors.

There are so many horses that need help and they do not have the funding to keep it up.
They have taken in horses that have been let loose in
BLM land because people can no longer afford their horses.

The abuse that some of these horses have gone through is evident on their website.
It is absolutly horrible. They now have 100 horses on the property that desperately need homes.
Many of these horses have had significant training and are BEAUTIFUL! They just need a home.

I have put a link for their site above. If you could afford even a small donation it would help.
These horses need medical attention and food.
Joan puts every cent she makes into providing for these horses.
But she desperately needs the help of us compassionate humans.

I can't imagine what it would be like to be a horse in a home,
and then the person you trust the most lets you out in the middle of nowhere to see if you
can make it on your own. Homeless without a chance of survival.

Then Joan Steelhammer is called to provide food and shelter and to make them well.
Some don't make it. Joan has no regrets as she spends thousands of dollars to help these horses heal.
But at this point they may lose their facility as there is no money left.

My worry is, then where do these poor horses go? They really need help.
Or anyone's help that is willing to help someone that is so willing
to put her life aside to help these beautiful animals.

If you can help they would so appreciate even a dollar.
If you can't everyone understands, our economy is horrible.

All donations ARE TAX DEDUCTIBLE! (can you tell I am married to a CPA)
So it helps the horses and your tax bill at the end of the year!~

Please be aware that we do not own these rescue's. We are just trying to help get the word out.
Even Tyler donated $5.00 of his birthday money to the horses. I guess our plan worked. He has compassion
for animals! He pushed the button to donate! What a way to teach your kids how important
it is to give to others!

If Equine Outreach doesn't get help quickly the outcome will be horrible.
All of these horses will be homeless!

Thank you for taking the time to read this....

A dear friend of mine sent me this today.
It was so wonderful and brought tears to my eyes.

Read Below

Animals don't know our economy is a mess.
They just believe they will be OK.
Even as they are taking their last walk to the death chamber.
They still love us humans even as they are taking their last breath of life.

I rescued a human today.

Her eyes met mine as she walked down the corridor peering
apprehensively into the kennels. I felt her need instantly and knew
I had to help her. I wagged my tail, not too exuberantly, so she
wouldn't be afraid.

As she stopped at my kennel I blocked her view
from a little accident I had in the back of my cage. I didn't want
her to know that I hadn't been walked today. Sometimes the shelter
keepers get too busy and I didn't want her to think poorly of them.

As she read my kennel card I hoped that she wouldn't feel sad about
my past. I only have the future to look forward to and want to make
a difference in someone's life. She got down on her knees and made
little kissy sounds at me. I shoved my shoulder and side of my head
up against the bars to comfort her.

Gentle fingertips caressed my neck; she was desperate for companionship.
A tear fell down her cheek and I raised my paw to assure her that all would
be well. Soon my kennel door opened and her smile was so bright that I
instantly jumped into her arms. I would promise to keep her safe. I
would promise to always be by her side. I would promise to do
everything I could to see that radiant smile and sparkle in her
eyes. I was so fortunate that she came down my corridor. So many
more are out there who haven't walked the corridors. So many more to
be saved. At least I could save one.

I rescued a human today.

We always try and make sure our four legged
kids do not know what bad day is!

Elly is a happy rescue....Sandy has her doing circles when she wants to play!
She smiles all the time!
Then her name becomes land shark...She has the biggest grin you have even seen!

Our little tiny Jitters was a girl that had litter after litter.
Never again for our little angel. She is now a lap ornament!
